cold lab was established in Shanghai in 2021. The team members have received architecture educations and practice experiences around the globe, as well as working experiences in international firms for many years. Based on the mutual collaboration and discussion under this various growth background, the studio hopes to design and create from a more diverse and open perspective.

Facing with different project issues, we take architecture as a starting point, and more as a medium, to explore the integrate boundary of multiculturalism and design in the contemporary context through practice.

In those specific practices, we continuously pay attention to the energies contained in the site, the researches related to function demands, the textures of space and materials, the rigor of the construction details, and the involvement in the whole construction process, trying to explore the boundaries of design through complete project presentations.
